The Novelsat Xstream is a software-defined, any-to-any gateway on off-the-shelf servers for video delivery, Earth observation, SIGINT, cloud and IoT networks. A compact chassis combines multiple satellite modulators and demodulators (NS4, DVB-S2X and DVB-S2) with independent ASI and IP interfaces, SMPTE 2022 FEC and hitless merge. It encodes, decodes and transcodes, filters and remultiplexes services, descrambles BISS 1/2/E/CA and DVB Simulcrypt, monitors at IP, TS, service and PID level, and fails over any input to any output on ETR 101 290 triggers, with dual redundant power supplies.

What is the NOVELSAT NS4 waveform?
NS4 is Novelsat's proprietary satellite waveform. It gains spectral efficiency over DVB-S2X through very tight roll-off (down to 2%) and advanced coding, so the same transponder carries more data or video. Novelsat equipment also runs standard DVB-S2 and DVB-S2X, so it works with existing networks.
