Product details
The CPI CPXB8040SB is a 40W X-Band compact SSPB (solid-state power block upconverter) from CPI's CPXB8040SB line. It delivers 40W saturated, 32W minimum at 1 dB compression and 20W minimum linear power across 7.9–8.4 GHz, from a 950–1450 MHz L-band input.
The integrated block upconverter uses an internal OCXO with remote fine-frequency adjustment that can phase-lock to an external 10 MHz reference. The 7.5 lb weatherized package has an integral heatsink and fan, runs on 20–56 VDC (185W typical), and is monitored and controlled over RS-232/-422/-485.
Order it as CPXB8040SB-XX, specifying white, green or tan finish.

Frequently asked questions
Can it run from AC power?
It takes 20–56 VDC directly, so it runs from 24, 28 or 48 VDC systems. CPI's CPS14000AC power supply option runs it from AC mains.
Does it need an external reference?
No. It has an internal OCXO (±1 × 10⁻⁷ over temperature), and it phase-locks to an external 10 MHz reference when you supply one on the IF cable, which most modems can provide.
Need it installed, aligned or supported?
