The Avcom SNG-2500C is a 5 to 2300 MHz spectrum analyzer and carrier monitor built for satellite news gathering and earth stations, and a direct, cost-effective replacement for the discontinued Tektronix 1705A (it fits the Tektronix 1700-series dual mount tub). Uplink, downlink, L-band, IF and 10 MHz reference signals are easy to watch on its 5.7-inch VGA display, with resolution bandwidths from 10 kHz to 1 MHz for small TT&C and data carriers, persistence, averaging and waterfall views for TDMA or noisy carriers, and L.O. offsets that read frequency directly in L, C, Ku or a custom band. Avcom's free Windows remote-control software adds SNMP alarms, markers, cross-polling, automated data acquisition with tolerance checks, e-mail alerts and up to twelve windows at once.
