Comtech CRS switches watch a set of satellite modems and automatically move traffic and IF to a standby modem when a unit fails or traffic is lost. The CRS-150 (active) and the passive CRS-170A (L-band) and CRS-180 (70/140 MHz) protect a single pair of modems; the CRS-500 provides 1:N protection for larger installations.
